The Board of Education of the City of Marietta, in a 6:1 vote with board member Brett Bittner opposed, approved a contract for calling a Special Election on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
Nov. 13, 2012 - SPLOST Resolution Approved
The Board of Education of the City of Marietta, in a 6:1 vote with board member Brett Bittner opposed, approved a five-year, $55.4 million plan for schools to be funded by an extension of the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The school board approved the plan as part of a SPLOST Concurrent Resolution calling for a public referendum on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
