Ward One: Walter Scott Allen, DC
A graduate of Clemson University who earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University, Dr. Allen operates his chiropractic practice from his Doran Avenue home and is active in the “Loop Group,” a Marietta neighborhood association. He and his wife Rachel Diane have two children, Rebekah Skye, age 2, and a recent addition, Jonathan Steele.

Ward Two: N. Tony Fasola, Vice-Chair
Mr. Fasola is Vice President and Regional Sales Manager for Entertainment Studios, a television production and syndication company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and information studies from California State University at Chico. Mr Fasola has two daughters who both attend Marietta City Schools. Active in the Hickory Hills PTA, Mr. Fasola served as treasurer in 2004-05 and was a Board-appointed member of the Attendance Zone Planning Task Force in 2004-05.

Ward Three: Randy Weiner
Mr. Weiner is a Marietta City Schools product, attending Hickory Hills Elementary, Marietta Junior High and Marietta High School – both he and his wife Kelley are 1985 graduates. He earned his finance degree from Kennesaw State University. Mr. Weiner is owner of What A Pane! – a window-cleaning business he established in 1992 – and holds a real estate license. He is a member of Marietta First Baptist Church and served on the board for the Marietta Welcome Center and Visitors Bureau in 1997-98. The Weiner’s have two children; both currently attend Marietta City Schools.

Ward Four: Jill C. Mutimer, Chair
Mrs. Mutimer is a native Mariettan and Marietta City Schools product who graduated from Marietta High in 1984. In 2000, after 12 years in banking, Mrs. Mutimer and her business partner established Strategic Consulting Group, a financial consulting firm servicing primarily non-profit organizations. A magna cum laude University of Georgia graduate who earned her BBA in 1988, Mrs. Mutimer is an active PTA member and school volunteer and is a past board member for the Better Business Bureau of Metro Atlanta.

Ward Five: Jeanie Carter
The Board’s longest-serving member, Mrs. Carter is now in her fourth term on the board. She taught in Marietta City Schools for 32 years at the elementary, middle and high school levels. She holds a B.S. in elementary education from Morris Brown College and M.Ed. from Emory University. Her husband Kenneth is a teacher at the Woods-Wilkins Center and Marietta Sixth Grade Academy. The couple's son and daughter attended Marietta schools.

Ward Six: Tom Smith
Mr. Smith joined the board in September 2001 to fill a vacant seat and is now in his second full term. Mr. Smith moved to Cobb County in 1977 and more recently to the City of Marietta in 1995. He is president of Retail Development Consultants Inc., a commercial real estate consulting, brokerage and development firm that was established by his father in 1981. In 1983 he married his wife Danette, a career educator, and the couple has a daughter in college. Mr. Smith represents the Board on the Marietta Redevelopment Corporation.

Ward Seven: Irene Berens
Mrs. Berens joined the board in April 2001 and is now in her second full term on the board. A graduate of Georgia Tech, Mrs. Berens is a ballet teacher at Ruth Mitchell's Ga. Dance Conservatory. She and her husband Bob, a Marietta High School graduate, have two children who also graduated from MHS. Ryan is currently teaching at MHS and Lauren is pursuing a degree in Communications at Georgia Southern.
