Marietta Schools Foundation

Providing the Margin of Excellence

The Marietta Schools Foundation was incorporated in June 1983 for the purpose of promoting educational achievement and excellence among the students, faculty and staff of the Marietta City Schools. The foundation recognizes and rewards outstanding students, teachers, and administrators, and establishes funding guidelines and procedures in order to respond to the specific needs of teachers and administrators.

Scholarships are provided by the foundation through several scholarship funds that have been endowed specifically for that purpose. The foundation also helps fund many projects throughout the year.

Through the generous contributions of alumni, friends, businesses and local authorities, the Marietta Schools Foundation reached the $1 million milestone in 1998.

MCS Educator and Benefactor, Marcella Wilkins Dies
Former Marietta City Schools (MCS) educator, Marcella Wilkins, widow of the late Coach Ben T. Wilkins, died Sept. 24, 2009. Marcella and Benjamin Wilkins were highly respected for their commitment to educational excellence. Mrs. Wilkins was a teacher at Lemon Street School from 1960 to 1967. More»

Marietta Superintendent Welcomes Back Employees, Aug. 6, 2009
Dr. Emily Lembeck welcomed back school system employees during the annual “Welcome Back” kick-off at Marietta Middle School. The event included the Marietta Schools Foundation Years of Service pin ceremony honoring employees with 10 and 20-years of service to the school district, a special video titled “Classroom Technology” and guest speaker David Warlick’s keynote presentation “Redefining Literacy for the 21st Century.” The event concluded with an old-fashioned ice cream social.

MSF & MHS Awarded AT&T Grant, Jan. 20, 2009
The AT&T Foundation, the corporate philanthropy arm of AT&T Incorporated presented a $56,227 grant award to the Marietta Schools Foundation during the Jan. 20 meeting of the Board of Education of the City of Marietta. The grant will add two Mobile Computing Labs to assist in the Pathways to Success program at Marietta High School.

Marietta Schools Foundation Receives $25,000 Math Endowment
