Partners In Education
Partners in Education is sponsored by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, the Marietta City Schools system and the Cobb County School System. The PIE program is designed to establish a voluntary relationship between a business/organization and a school in order to:
- Support and enrich the education of students;
- Encourage and support school faculty and staff;
- Promote community strength and identify needs; and
- Provide business employees and organization members the opportunity to identify the successes and needs of the public school systems.
Marietta City Schools appreciates the contributions of these community businesses and organizations that help make our schools a better place to learn and work.

Lockheed Hosts 12th Annual PFAD Program, Feb. 26
Lockheed Elementary, and other Marietta City schools, recently participated in the Cobb Chamber's 12th Annual Principal for a Day (PFAD) Program. Lockheed welcomed Mike Miller, American Family Insurance and Dr. Renva Watterson, Interim President of Georgia Highlands College as guest Principals for a Day.

MCAA Make A Difference Day, Oct. 24
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Corporation employees recently volunteered to paint one of the science lab classrooms at Marietta Center for Advanced Academics (MCAA). As a valued Partner in Education, Lockheed Martin is refurbishing a lab at MCAA that will be dedicated and named in their honor.

Betsy Madrerohon, Assistant Vice President for Business Banker Marietta Branch joined West Side's Teacher of the Year, Cindy Westlake, and spent the day as a first grade teacher. She enjoyed reading to students and working with children in their math centers.

The Marietta Performance Learning Center (PLC) recently kicked off their 2013 Partner in Education (PIE) agreement with the Rotary Club of Marietta. Rotarians will sponsor job shadow opportunities for PLC students. Last school year, the job shadow project provided PLC students with 45 job shadow experiences with lawyers, CPAs, property managers, and university administrators.
