School Report Cards
The 2006-2007 Marietta City Schools Report card data is provided by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA).
GOSA provides accountability for all of Georgia's education agencies, from pre-kindergarten through postsecondary levels. Such accountability intends to improve student achievement and school completion in Georgia.
As part of this mission, GOSA presents its annual report on Georgia's public education agencies. GOSA hopes that the information contained in these reports and future reports will provide educators, parents, students, and all stakeholders with valuable information and challenge communities to improve education for all of Georgia's children.
GOSA strives to increase student achievement and school completion across Georgia through meaningful, transparent, and objective analysis and communication of statewide data.

Single Statewide Accountability System
Under the No Child Left Behind legislation, and as mandated by state law, Georgia is required to develop a Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) which includes awards and consequences.
Awards are presented to schools that show excellence in student achievement and/or progress in student achievement.
In 2007, the Governor's Office of Student Achievement presented SSAS Awards to three Marietta City elementary schools state awards for student achievement and academic improvement.
A.L. Burruss and West Side are two of only 26 elementary schools statewide earning Platinum level status for greatest gains in academic improvement, and the Marietta Center for Advanced Academics is one of 27 elementary schools across Georgia to earn Gold status for highest performance in student achievement.
