Marietta Superintendent Welcomes Back Employees, July 31
Dr. Emily Lembeck welcomed back school system employees during the annual “Welcome Back” event held July 31 at Marietta Middle School. The event included a special video presentation titled “What Makes a Great Teacher?” and the Marietta Schools Foundation Years of Service pin ceremony honoring employees with 10, 20, 30 and 40-years of service to the district.

Dr. Emily Lembeck presented the State of the School System Report to a capacity crowd of community and civic leaders gathered at the Kiwanis Club of Marietta meeting on Jan. 17 at the Marietta Conference Center.
First Annual K-12 Educator Conference, Aug. 25, 2007 Trends and Emergent Technologies for K-12 Educators
Over 150 Marietta City Schools (MCS) math and science teachers, school administrators, government and business leaders gathered for the First Annual MCS Educator Conference: “Trends and Emergent Technologies for K-12 Educators”— Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Conference Center in Atlanta.
Gary Marx, president of the Center for Public Outreach, an organization that provides counsel on future-oriented leadership, communication, education, community, and democracy, and the author of Sixteen Trends…Their Profound Impact on Our Future and Future Focused Leadership…Preparing Schools, Students, and Communities for Tomorrow’s Realities was the conference special guest keynote speaker.
Dr. Sheila Jones, Senior Executive Director for Georgia P-16 Programs at the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and Partnership for Reform in Science & Mathematics (PRISM) shared Georgia’s Vision for Math, Science & Technology.
Gary Marx and representatives from GTRI/Foundations for the Future (F3) lead a series of hands-on learning sessions in the areas of Future-Focused Leadership and Communication, Incorporating Podcasting into Your Classroom, Productivity Tools for Teachers, and Blogging, Wikis, and Second Life.
