Graduation Requirements

The Marietta Board of Education recognizes the importance of assuring an adequate educational opportunity for each student. This goal is to be supported by a quality secondary school program which promotes personal development, academic growth, and career preparation.

The Board defines as a major role of secondary schools the responsibility for providing the youth of Marietta with opportunities to acquire and to apply basic skills necessary for contemporary adult life. Such skills are defined as those which enable one to address effectively and efficiently the decisions and opportunities presented in a technological society.

Thus, the Board will offer all courses and maintain or exceed all graduation requirements as required by State of Georgia Laws and the Georgia Department of Education.
