MCS Response to National
Terrorism Advisory System

National Terrorism Advisory SystemMarietta City Schools (MCS) uses the National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) to inform the public and our employees of changes in the terrorist threat level in the United States and its possessions.

There are two threat levels:

These alerts include a clear statement that there is an imminent threat or elevated threat; provide a concise summary of the potential threat, information about actions being taken to ensure public safety, and recommended steps that individuals, communities, businesses and schools should take to help prevent, mitigate or respond to the threat. Comprehensive response procedures are contained in the district-wide safety plan and each local school safety plan.

We encourage Marietta parents and community members to stay tuned to local media outlets for information and updates as conditions warrant. For more information on the National Terrorism Advisory System or to receive NTAS alerts, visit www.dhs.gov/alerts.
