Marietta City Schools Is Top 10 Winner
NSBA Digital School Districts Survey
District places in Top 10, fourth year running
Marietta, GA - Marietta City Schools (MCS) tied for 10th place, among medium-sized school
districts (2,501 – 15,000 students), in the nation’s sixth annual Digital School Districts Survey.
The announcement made recently by e.Republic’s Center for Digital Education, the National
School Boards Association (NSBA) and Converge Online magazine recognizes school districts
and school boards across the nation whose use of digital technology in interfacing with students,
parents and community, district governing, and bettering of operations proved exceptional.
“We are honored to have placed among the top-ten winners nationwide for the past four
years, and to be recognized as among those school districts demonstrating the most
comprehensive use of digital standards to engage our constituents,” said Dr. Emily Lembeck,
MCS Superintendent.
Founded in 1940, the National School Boards Association is a not-for-profit federation of
state associations of school boards representing 95,000 local school board members throughout
the United States. The Center for Digital Education is a national research and advisory institute
providing education and industry leaders with decision support, research and educational
services to help them effectively incorporate new technologies in the 21st century.
