Hickory Hills Students Nominated
National Young Scholars Program
Nation's most outstanding 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students
Marietta, GA - Hickory Hills Elementary School recently nominated five students to the
National Young Scholars Program (NYSP). The National Young Scholars Program is designed
and created specifically for the nation's most outstanding third, fourth and fifth grade students.
The five Hickory Hills Elementary students nominated for NYSP are Zakiah Morrow, Race
Pohlkamp, Liam MacPherson, Tazz Wiley, and Trinitee Rogers. Students nominated to NYSP
demonstrate leadership potential, maturity and academic excellence.
“These students were nominated by teachers and administration because they exemplify
the qualities that an outstanding student and leader should have,” states Diana Mills, principal of
Hickory Hills Elementary. “Any of these students, if selected for the National Young Scholars
Program, are most deserving.”
Students chosen for the National Young Scholars Program attend a leadership academy in
July 2010. NYSP offers a six-day residential program that includes overnight accommodations,
all meals and 24-hour supervision, or a day program, depending on location. The National
Young Scholars Program (NYSP) is an exciting and interactive program that unleashes the
learning potential within the nation's most promising young scholars.
