Benefits The Empty Stocking Fund, Nov. 6
Drive Day annual fundraising campaign
Marietta, GA - Over 200 Marietta High School (MHS) Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) cadets will participate in the annual JROTC Drive Day, Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, to benefit The Empty Stocking Fund. Drive Day is an annual fundraising campaign where JROTC cadets from metro Atlanta high schools, collect donations throughout their community to help The Empty Stocking Fund, an Atlanta-based, non-profit organization that provides gifts to more than 50,000 metro area children living in poverty each year.
“Each year, MHS cadets participate in this activity, usually held the first weekend of December. This year, the annual JROTC Drive is being held a month earlier than it has been in years past,” said Lieutenant Colonel James T. Wilson, MHS Senior Aerospace Science Instructor. “If you see a cadet in your neighborhood or at your local Kroger store, Saturday or Sunday, November 6 and 7, please consider making a contribution.”
MHS cadets will be at the following Marietta Kroger locations, Saturday, Nov. 6:
- 1122 Powers Ferry Rd.
- 2100 Roswell Rd.
- 1000 Whitlock Ave.
- 1690 Powder Springs Rd.
