Nine Marietta Schools Named
2011 Title I Distinguished Schools
Marietta, GA - The Georgia Department of Education has named nine Marietta City schools 2011 Title I Distinguished Schools. The nine are among 824 Georgia Title I Distinguished Schools recognized by the state for achieving Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) at least three years in a row.
"We are very proud to add Marietta Sixth Grade Academy and Marietta High School to the list of Title I Distinguished Schools this year," said Dr. Emily Lembeck, MCS Superintendent. "This is quite an achievement when you consider that the accountability bar has continued to rise each year making it increasingly more difficult for schools to achieve AYP."
