Marietta City Students Celebrate
Read Across America Day, March 2
Date marks Dr. Seuss's 108th Birthday Anniversary

Marietta, GA - Marietta City Schools (MCS) elementary grade students will join millions of their peers across the country to celebrate the fifteenth annual National Education Association's (NEA) Read Across America Day, March 2, 2012.

NEA's Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.

"In the spirit of supporting the Marietta Reads! literacy initiative, we encourage adults in our community to read to a child in commemoration of Dr. Seuss's birthday," said Dr. Debra McCracken, MCS Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
