MCS Names Debbie Woolard
Employee Of The Year, May 28
Woolard, International Baccalaureate Coordinator

MARIETTA, GA - At its annual awards celebration held May 28, 2013, Marietta City Schools (MCS) honored teachers and school system employees, and named Debbie Woolard, Employee of the Year. Woolard currently serves as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator of the district’s Diploma & Middle Years Programmes.

“Debbie Woolard is deserving of this recognition. Her continued leadership and vision for the IB diploma program at Marietta High School has had a tremendously positive impact on our school system,” said MCS Superintendent Dr. Emily Lembeck. “She played a key role in seeing our school system through numerous authorizations and evaluations with excellent results. In addition to the support provided for students, parents, and colleagues, she represents MCS at local, state, national and international forums in an exemplary fashion.”

Marietta High School (MHS) recently earned approval from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the new International Baccalaureate Career-related Certificate (IBCC). The IBO authorization establishes Marietta High School as only the third International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Georgia to offer the IBCC, and Marietta City Schools as only the second Georgia school district to provide the full IB continuum of all four IB programmes (Primary Years, Middle Years, Diploma, and Career-related Certificate).
