MCAA Educator-Leader Named
2013 KSU Distinguished Alumni
Yoder, Assistant Principal - Marietta Center for Advanced Academics

MARIETTA, GA -Dean Yoder, Marietta Center for Advanced Academics Assistant Principal, was recently named one of three Distinguished Alumni of Kennesaw State University (KSU) for 2013. The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor the University bestows on its graduates. Academic departments across all eight of the University's colleges nominate candidates, with candidates competing within their colleges and then at the University level.

“I am really happy to see Dean receive this recognition. He has certainly distinguished himself as a Marietta City Schools teacher leader and Assistant Principal, and at KSU, ultimately for the benefit of students and public education. I am proud of him and the way he contributes to the Marietta Difference,” said Dr. Emily Lembeck, Superintendent Marietta City Schools.

Yoder received nominations from the Department of Secondary and Middle Grades Education, and the Department of Educational Leadership at KSU’s Bagwell College of Education. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education in 2006 and his Master's (2010) and Education Specialist (2012) in Educational Leadership.

“It is an unusual honor in and of itself to have two academic departments decide that a graduate is both of their distinguished alumni nominee,” said, Dr. Arlinda J. Eaton, Dean, Bagwell College of Education. “We are remarkably proud of Dean’s accomplishments since receiving his bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education in 2006.”
