The 14th Annual Marietta Reads! Kick-Off, October 29

Marietta Reads!, the Marietta City Schools (MCS) citywide effort to foster reading and literacy in the community, celebrated its 14th year anniversary. This year's theme is "The World, Your Door....Imagination, the Key." The event offered a variety of literacy activities — a book fair, book costume characters, and family-friendly entertainment including school drama and dance performances, guest appearances by Marietta Reads! mascot Mari-Etta, and the reveal of this year’s One Book - Inside Coca-Cola: A CEO's Life Story of Building the World's Most Popular Brand by Neville Isdell and David Beasley.

The One Book Marietta project was created to provide the Marietta Community a common experience of reading the same book so that impromptu book discussions, shared inquiry, as well as organized book clubs and events can spring up to connect us through a literary work. Adult readers can model reading and serve as literacy leaders to our youth.

Marietta Reads! sponsors can give the gift of reading to someone else. Corporate/Business Sponsor contributions, and Personal and Individual Sponsorships help purchase books, supplies, and other resources necessary for implementing sound literacy programs.
