The State Board of Education (SBOE) voted to approve State School Superintendent Richard Woods' recommendation of a .01% course grade weight for Georgia Milestones End-of-Course (EOC) exams. About Marietta City Schools
Marietta City Schools (MCS) is a Charter System that serves more than 8,900 students at eight elementary choice schools, one sixth grade academy, one middle school, and one high school. MCS is one of the first International Baccalaureate (IB) World School District in Georgia. As an IB World School District, MCS offers the optional IB Primary Years Programme for grades K-5, IB Middle Years Programme for all students in grades 6-10, and the IB Diploma Programme as an option for high school students in grades 11-12. Additionally, Marietta High School offers multiple industry-certified IB Career-related Programmes (CP), a framework of international education that incorporates the vision and educational principles of IB into career-related learning.
8,900 students are currently enrolled in Marietta City Schools in grades kindergarten through twelve. Our current student to teacher ratio is 14:1. MCS has six grade levels offering Georgia STEM Certified Programs. Our high school has been named “One of the best high schools in the nation," by Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report, and “One of America’s Most Challenging High Schools” by The Washington Post.
