This “super soul” 1975 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical retells L. Frank Baum’s classic “The Wizard of Oz” in the context of African-American culture.
Dorothy, a restless Kansas farm girl eager to see more of the world, is transported by a tornado to a magical world of Munchkins, witches, and a yellow brick road. On her way to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard of Oz, who she believes can help her get back home to Kansas, she encounters the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion - friends who help her battle the Wicked Witch of the West and eventually learn that there really is “no place like home.”

    mr blue devil

The Mr. Blue Devil Pageant will be showcasing the outstanding men Marietta High School has to offer on one of the most dynamic and exciting platforms. These high school seniors will be presenting their talents, best-dressed attire and showing their quick thinking skills through a rapid-fire question round. The pageant will be held in the MPAC on Wednesday, April 17th at 6:30 pm, and will be a fundraiser for Pennies For Patients- an organization that supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We encourage everyone who attends the pageant to bring change in order to vote for your favorite contestants ($1 = 1 vote). Marietta High School's student council is beyond excited to invite all students and community members to join in raising money for such a good cause!
