    Marietta City Schools is now using Schoology, an integrated learning management solution that provides course management, mobile learning, and support for communication. Schoology enables our students, parents, and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond. We look forward to using Schoology in our classrooms starting this school year to enhance connectivity and communication.

    Pearson enVision is equipped with rich and engaging resources for the classroom and at home to promote an active partnership in student learning.  Please find additional information to help support your student’s success with this resource.  Pearson enVision assignments are found at www.PearsonRealize.com.  Students have 24/7 access to their Realize Reader student book and interactive learning resources. 

    Videos on Realize offer help for how to solve the types of problems found in the assigned lesson.  Access to these videos is also available with the free app called Pearson BouncePages.  Simply download the app and scan a compatible page in the student book with your mobile device’s camera.  This will direct you to the specific tutorial video(s) for that lesson.

    As you and your student explore Pearson enVision over the course of the school year, we hope you have an opportunity to utilize specific tools such as:  Practice Buddies (K-2), MathXL for School (Grades 3-11), and Virtual Nerd (Grades 6-11).

    Odyssey

    Odyssey by Compass Learning includes lessons and activities that are built upon current and confirmed research about the way students actually think and learn. Odyssey software for Kindergarten through 10th grade makes differentiating and personalizing learning paths for instruction based on the NWEA MAP test in Math and Language Reads. In addition, Compass Learning Odyssey provides learning modules and courses for online learning for the 6-12th grade students in Science, Math, Language Arts and Social Studies.

    Discovery Education has award-winning digital content such as videos, images, songs, interactive games, virtual labs, eBooks, etc. which are viewable online or some are downloadable for school projects. The content includes, math, language, arts, science, social studies, health, PE, Foreign Language, etc. Each piece of content has a complete citation that can be used for bibliographies.

    Galileo

    GALILEO (9 - 12 6 - 8 K - 5)  is an online library of databases and selected free Inter-net resources that offers access to thousands of full-text magazines, journals, encyclopedias, and electronic books. This is a safe and vetted site for students to use for research. The content includes, math, language, arts, science, social studies, health, PE, Foreign Language, etc. Each piece of content has a complete citation that can be used for bibliographies.

    Renaissance Home Connect

    Renaissance Home Connect improves the school-to-home connection by allowing parents and students to log in to a website and view the student’s reading and math practice and progress towards goals in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.

    Students work independently to develop critical reading and language skills through individualized, motivating learning paths.  All students, regardless of their skill level, can each work at their own pace and the teacher is notified (on web-based reports and via email) only when they require support. ]

    Test Pad is provided by the Georgia Department of Education and replaces GOFAR.  TestPad includes all of the functionality of GOFAR and also allows users to create their own items and passages. Now users can create content specific for the instructional needs of their classroom.  User created content can be shared within a school or a district to create common assessments.

    Building early literacy and numeracy skills is critical for students to fulfill their potential in future learning - leading to improved high school graduation rates, higher education opportunities, job prospects, and earning potential.  Recent legislation recognized the importance of these skills for Georgia's first and second grade students.  Game-based assessment provides an alternative that is research-based and adds value for students, educators and parents.  In Keenville, Georgia students will explore and customize a highly-engaging world that presents real-life yet playful, age- and grade-appropriate problem sets and critical thinking tasks.     Georgia Virtual School

    Georgia Virtual Learning is your headquarters for online education from the Georgia Department of Education. Stay tuned as the program grows into your portal to various learning resources delivered by the GaDOE. Currently, you can find links to Georgia Virtual School, the online learning opportunity for 9-12 students, Georgia Credit Recovery, the teacher-less online location for students who need to recover credit from an unsuccessful course, and the GaDOE Express program which helps teachers and students with information related to the science and social studies Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGTs).
     
    Additionally, Georgia Virtual Learning provides modules for all core content classes grades 6-12. Students will find lessons, activities, assignments, assessments, resources, and projects aligned with GPS and CCGPS. It is a fantastic resource for students to engage in self-directed learning in all core subjects from grades 6-12.
