Meet the Principal

  • Ayo Richardson Welcome to Dunleith Elementary School where we are Creating Magic Every Day

    Dear Dunleith Dolphin Family,

It is with such pride and excitement I introduce myself as your new principal.  I am honored to join Marietta City Schools, which is known for its commitment to the students, families and communities of Marietta.  Over the past 17 years, I have worked in various school settings as a classroom teacher, gifted program teacher, coach and administrator. These experiences have increased my knowledge, taught me perseverance and brought me joy.  It is my honor to share these with you and your children.

I will spend much time getting to know them, their personalities, interests, and learning styles.  I will be there to cheer them on and celebrate their wins, small and large.  I will encourage tenacity and kindness, ensuring they each know that they hold a special place at Dunleith Elementary.

My goal will be to ensure all children are safe, healthy, and happy so that they may reach their full potential. It has been my philosophy since my first classroom that every student has something valuable to contribute and deserves our very best each day.  My career began in DeKalb County Schools where I taught 1st and 2nd grades.  As a young teacher I spent many weekends attending sporting events and birthday parties.  It was here that I learned the value of building relationships with my students and families.   My journey then took me to Fulton County Schools, where I worked for 13 years as a teacher and administrator.  Each school community was diverse and unique in its needs.  It was during these years I learned the value of seeking input from teachers, parents and community members to drive continuous improvement and achieve our vision of success.

Once again, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this beautiful community.  I am excited to share with you the amazing things your Dolphins learn and create each day.  I am also here for you should you need support in navigating any aspect of life here at Dunleith.  Please do not ever hesitate to reach out to me as we work to build our future together.
