Two MHS Seniors Sign Letters of Intent for Athletic Scholarships at Division 1 Schools
Marietta High School held a special signing day ceremony this week for two students, Taylor Smith and Lester Sterling, who both signed their letter of intent for scholarships to participate in collegiate sports at the division I level.
Beginning in the fall, Smith will attend Kansas State where she has accepted a scholarship to play basketball for the Lady Wildcats. Smith will leave her mark on the Marietta girls basketball program as the third all time in scorer with 1785 career points, and third most three pointers made in school history.
With offers from three different division I universities, University of Florida, University of Georgia and University of Tennessee, Sterling has opted to take her talents to UGA.
She will graduate from Marietta High School in just three years as an outstanding student and track & field athlete. Holding 4 records in the Marietta Track club, Coach Houstoulakis says, “Sterling is the most impressive and greatest track athlete to walk the halls of Marietta High School.”
