IB Middle Years Program (MYP)
Middle Years Program (authorized 2008) at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, Marietta Middle School and Marietta High School.
For students aged 11 to 16, MYP provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers.
All 9th and 10th grade MHS students participate in Year 4 and Year 5 of the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) in partnership with Marietta Sixth Grade Academy and Marietta Middle School which offer Years 1-3.
Students who wish to earn the MYP Certificate declare their intent to work towards certification in the fall of 9th grade, continue studying in six of the eight MYP subject areas, and begin to research and develop their MYP Personal Project spring semester of 9th grade, with final projects due early in the 10th grade year.
