Dr. Wagoner's Welcome Letter for Kinder Families

  • Dear Rising Kindergarten Families,

In just a few short weeks, your child will begin Kindergarten at West Side Elementary School!  You are likely feeling bittersweet about the start of child’s elementary school years, especially in a year when schools across the country are re-opening under COVID-19.  I invite each of your to visit our district website for more in-depth information about the steps we will take to ensure the safety of our students and staff (MCS Re-opening).  Over the next few weeks, it is my hope your excitement grows as you watch your child exchange his/her swimsuit for a new backpack.  If you are new to our school community, or returning we know you will experience what all Stinger families know to be true… there’s no place like West Side!

To help our planning for the upcoming school year, please complete your child’s registration at the following link – Marietta City Schools Registration Gateway.  If you experience difficulty with online registration please reach out to our enrollment clerk, Harriette Price (hprice@marietta-city.k12.ga.us).  Mrs. Price will be available to assist you by phone, or in person beginning July 13th.  It is very important to have your child’s registration completed, in order to stay informed about the transition events described below.

In order to support your child’s transition to Kindergarten, we are offering four events before the start of the school year.  We encourage you to make arrangements for your child to attend these events.  Please make note of the dates to reserve your child’s spot in the events that require registration.
