The Class of 2023 will be the largest in Marietta City Schools' history. Each graduate can invite up to ten guests to the ceremony. In an effort to share this momentous occasion with loved ones, both sides of the stadium will be open for seating. The graduates will be seated facing Polk Street and enter the stadium from the far end zone, providing ample opportunities for pictures.
Graduation is a ticketed event. Gates to Northcutt Stadium will open at 6:20 p.m. and close at 7:20 p.m. to allow for all guests to be seated prior to the procession of the graduates. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.
The graduation program will be used as the ticket to the ceremony for each of the graduate’s ten guests. Ten programs will be given to each graduate at practice. Every guest will be required to present the program to an MHS team member at the gates and then be admitted into the stadium to seat themselves on either the home or visitor stands.
We will be streaming the ceremony at bluedevilnews.com under the "LIVE" tab.
Each graduate will have their picture taken while they are on stage receiving their diploma. You can find the pictures at lifetouch.curatorpost.com to purchase the images.
If any guest is in need of handicap seating, signing services for the hearing impaired, or Spanish/Portuguese translation services during the graduation ceremony, please contact Ms. Christina Fajardo no later than Friday, May 19. Ms. Fajardo can be reached at cfajardo@marietta-city.k12.ga.us or by calling (770) 428-2631, ext. 5204.
Students in the Class of 2023 will keep their gown, cap, tassel, any cords, medals, or pins they have earned. All graduation gowns are purchased for the Class of 2023 and will be kept by the graduate permanently and will not be returned to the school.
Any student who is not able to attend the ceremony or chooses not to participate is welcome to stop by the school’s attendance office and pick up their diploma on June 1 or 2, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
