Parade Details
When: Friday, October 13, 2023, 5:30 p.m. Floats begin lining up at 4:30 p.m.
Where: NEW ROUTE THIS YEAR! Route begins at 353 Lemon Street and will conclude at the First Presbyterian parking lot off Locust Street.
The Marietta Police Department will guide all participants as the parade goes down Lemon Street onto Polk Street, heading towards Northcutt Stadium. Homecoming Court will exit at Northcutt. Floats will continue on and turn right onto Cleburne Avenue, and then right onto Maple Avenue, ending by pulling through the Maple Ave UMC parking lot, crossing Locust, and parking in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot.

How: Register your float for the parade here. Registration is not complete until payment has been received by the MCS Finance Department. Checks should be made payable to Marietta City Schools and mailed/inter-officed to the attention of MCS Finance: Chandra Cohen, 250 Howard Street NE, Marietta, GA 30060. Please include your school/club name and "HOCO Parade" on the check's memo line (Example: MCAA-HOCO Parade).
Things to Know for Your Float
All entries must have a truck or a trailer bed on which your group participants can stand or sit during the parade. If you do have student participants walking alongside the float, we ask that you limit the number to just 10 students to keep everyone safe. All floats need to have a clearly displayed banner, either on the front of the float or carried by walkers in front of the float, to indicate the name of the school, club, group, or department.
Parade Float Arrival Instructions
Upon arrival at the 353 Lemon Street parking lot, you will be directed to line up in the loop behind the 353 building. Please do not arrive at the lot before 4:30 p.m. Cars dropping off participants can pull into the designated drop-off zone only and then exit on the opposite side of the parking lot.
Convertibles accompanying the Homecoming Court will line up across the street at the Woods Wilkins campus.
There is no parking available on site. Families must park elsewhere and then walk students into the lot to meet their float or drop students off in the designated drop-off zone in the 353 Lemon Street parking lot. Please share this information with your float participants and their families. MHS Student Council members will be wearing Student Council shirts. Defer to their instructions for parade line-up.

Floats will continue past Northcutt and turn right onto Cleburne Avenue, and then right onto Maple Avenue, ending by pulling through the Maple Ave UMC parking lot, crossing Locust, and parking in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot. Families of participants may park at Maple Ave UMC temporarily and cross Locust to pick up their students. Parking will only be available during student pick-up. All cars must relocate by 6:45 p.m.
