A Welcome to Students and Parents

  • Greetings and welcome to the 2018 - 2019 academic school year. The mission of the Marietta Sixth Grade Academy counseling department is to provide a  comprehensive school counseling program that empowers students for academic success, college and career readiness, and positive socio-emotional development.  Our  purpose is to further the Marietta City Schools district mission “to prepare each of our students through academic achievement for college, career, and life success” along  with removing barriers to learning. As a department, we provide equitable opportunities and facilitate access to resources that ensure student success.  In collaboration with parents, staff, community members, and stakeholders the counseling department is committed to the advancement of every student for the purpose of generating contributing citizens with global knowledge.

The 6th grade academic year will be a journey where students experience intellectual, physical, and social-emotional development.   Students will be challenged to a  higher order of thinking through our International Baccalaureate Middle Year Programme while managing affairs of everyday life.  The counseling department is committed to supporting our students and their families to safeguard student success.  Through an array of services, resources, and collaborative work, we strive to  meet the needs of all our students.
