Blue Devils Capture Sixth Straight 6A State Cross Country Championship

The Marietta High School girls’ cross-country team continued its remarkable dynasty at the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) State Championships, earning the 2025 6A State Title. It’s their sixth consecutive championship and eighth in the last nine years.

“This championship is about more than winning – it’s about the heart, hard work, and integrity our student-athletes bring to everything they do,” said Superintendent Grant Rivera. “Their success reflects the spirit of Marietta and the community that stands behind them.”

Under the leadership of head coach Jack Coleman, the Lady Blue Devils once again dominated on the state’s biggest stage, with five runners placing in the top 15:

  • Mary Nesmith — 3rd place
  • Hazel Davis — 5th place
  • Alyssa Trevino — 6th place
  • Bailey Turner — 11th place
  • Mary Kate Ninness — 13th place

When the team returned home, the Marietta community lined the streets to celebrate their record-breaking achievement. The Marietta Fire Department led the way, escorting the team bus with lights and sirens in honor of the Blue Devils’ state title.
