Weather 

Marietta City Schools is monitoring the forecast closely. By 12:00 p.m. Thursday morning, the district will confirm whether the ceremony will proceed as scheduled or shift to Friday at 7:30 p.m. per the graduation handbook rain plan. Families will be notified by email, text, phone, the district website, and social media. The plan remains to graduate the Class of 2026 on Thursday evening. 

● Rain Date #1: Friday, May 22, 7:30 p.m. 

● Rain Date #2: Saturday, May 23, 9:00 a.m. 

● Rain or Shine Date #3: Saturday, May 23, 12:00 p.m. 

 

Gates and arrival 

● Gates open: 6:20 p.m. Guests seated: 7:15 p.m. to allow seating before the procession. Graduates arrive at Marietta Middle School by 6:00 p.m. (A–L to the Auditorium; M–Z to the Big Blue Gym) 

 

Parking 

Graduates: First United Methodist Church of Marietta, 56 Whitlock Ave NW. No student parking at Marietta Middle School. Drop-off available on site. 

Guests: Marietta Middle School (parking lot at Walthall St. and Maple Ave.) and West Side Elementary School, 344 Polk St NW. 

Accessibility: The lot between Marietta Middle School and Northcutt Stadium is reserved for handicap parking and guests who need additional assistance. 

New for 2026: Golf carts will be available to assist families traveling to and from nearby parking areas. 

 

Clear bag procedure: The MCS Clear Bag Procedure is in effect for the 2026 ceremony. 

Allowed: clear tote (up to 12" x 6" x 12") with loose items, plastic zip-top bag (up to one gallon), clutch or small purse (up to 6.5" x 4.5"), seat cushion, binoculars, camera. Sizes will be enforced. 

Not allowed: briefcase, backpack, cinch bag, clear backpack, computer bag, coolers, drawstring bag, luggage, mesh bag, oversized tote, tinted plastic bag, large purse. 

Traffic: Marietta residents should expect afternoon and evening delays as attendees gather at Northcutt Stadium. Plan extra travel time.
