“Community Conversations” to answer questions about college applications, advising
Marietta City Schools (MCS) will continue its "Community Conversations" town hall series on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 7:30-8:00 p.m. This event will focus on the College Advising program at Marietta High School (MHS), highlighting the critical support available to students as they prepare for college.
This virtual town hall will feature Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera and MHS college advisor Milly Gorman, who will discuss how the program helps students navigate the college application process, from identifying schools that align with their goals to securing letters of recommendation and financial aid.
“We're dedicated to ensuring that every student has the guidance and tools to succeed beyond high school,” said Dr. Rivera. “Our College Advising program isn’t just about getting into college—it’s about helping students find the right fit, both academically and personally.”
Families are encouraged to participate to learn more about scheduling college visits, accessing transcripts, and the many personalized services available to help students take charge of their post-secondary journey.
The virtual format allows for flexibility, ensuring everyone can attend regardless of their location. The session will also be recorded for those unable to join live.
