Marietta City Schools to Provide Free Summer Meals for Cobb County Children

Marietta City Schools to Provide Free Summer Meals for Cobb County Children

MARIETTA, GA Marietta City Schools (MCS) is proud to continue its commitment to student well-being by offering free summer meals through the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program.

From June 2 through July 25, nutritious meals will be provided at no cost to all children under 18 and adults over 18 with a state-defined mental or physical disability. Meals will be distributed at 30 locations across Cobb County, with no registration, income, or residency requirements, making this program an inclusive and accessible option for families during the summer break.

“Summer should be a season where every child feels safe, supported, and well-fed,” said Cindy Culver, Director of School Nutrition for Marietta City Schools. “This program helps ensure that no child goes hungry just because school is out. It’s not only about meals, it’s about showing our students and families that we’re here for them, year-round. That’s what it means to be part of the Marietta family.”

Summer can be a season of uncertainty and hunger in some areas where more than 1 in 5 kids face food insecurity. The Seamless Summer Option offers more than just meals. It brings peace of mind to families, ensuring no child misses out on the nourishment they need to grow, thrive, and simply enjoy being a kid.

MCS encourages all eligible families to take advantage of this opportunity to meet their nutritional needs. Please click here for detailed information about the Seamless Summer Option program, including a complete list of meal pick-up locations, dates, and times.
