Marietta community celebrates Homecoming fans, fun, and football

Marietta community celebrates Homecoming fans, fun, and football

The annual Marietta City Schools (MCS) Homecoming Day festivities are happening on Friday, October 4. Thousands of people from Marietta and beyond will help kick off the celebrations with the Blue Devil Fan Fest and then gather to enjoy the parade just before kickoff. More than 20 floats from MCS schools, district programs, and the 2024 Homecoming Court will travel around Marietta Square and end along Polk Street.

Food trucks will be stationed on Winn Street near Northcutt Stadium, offering a variety of food. The Blue Devil Fan Fest will be open with inflatables and more family fun in front of the stadium from 5–7:30 p.m. The celebrations all lead to the Homecoming game, where the Marietta Blue Devils take on the Walton Raiders. Our Homecoming queen will be crowned during halftime.

2024 Homecoming Schedule:

  • ●  5:00–7:30 p.m. – Fan Fest, Northcutt Stadium

  • ●  5:30 – Homecoming Parade, see the route here

  • ●  7:05 – Hall of Fame Inductee Recognition, Northcutt Stadium

  • ●  7:30 – Homecoming Football Game, Northcutt Stadium

    Traffic:

This year’s route has changed from last year. Marietta Police Department will help guide all participants as the parade starts on Dobbs Street and ends on Polk Street, just in front of Northcutt Stadium.

Roads on the parade route will be closed once the parade starts at 5:30 p.m. Those closures will impact portions of Dobbs, Cherokee, Roswell, Church, Lemon, and Polk Streets as the Marietta community supports the Blue Devils. Find your parade viewing spot early, as parking is limited. Expect traffic delays in the area as hard street closures start at 5:30 p.m. and continue throughout Homecoming festivities.

The parade and Fan Fest are open to the public and free of charge. Tickets to the Homecoming game can be purchased here.
