MCS students achieve higher SAT scores, surpassing state and national averages
MARIETTA, GA – Marietta City Schools (MCS) students have achieved higher SAT scores this year, improving over last year's results and surpassing both state and national averages. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our students, educators, and staff.
"Our students continue to set higher standards of academic excellence," said Superintendent Grant Rivera. "Their hard work, combined with the support of our educators and community, has led to these outstanding results."
Key Highlights:
● Improved Overall Scores: MCS students achieved an average total SAT score of 1063, an increase of 11 points from last year.
● Surpassing State and National Averages: Our students outperformed both the state and national averages for public school students in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (ERW) and Math sections.
○ ERW average Score: MCS – 545 | State – 527 | National – 507
○ Math average Score: MCS – 518 | State – 503 | National – 488
○ Increased Participation with Strong Results: Despite a 9% increase in participation, MCS students maintained strong performance
