MCS resumes classes on a two-hour delay Wednesday, January 22
Please see the below email Superintendent Grant Rivera sent to families Tuesday afternoon:
Dear MCS Family,
After collaboration with the Cobb County School District, we will open our MCS schools tomorrow on a two-hour delay.
Some logistics to address obvious questions, as we don’t do this often:
- Your school start time is exactly two hours later than the normal start time. (See times below)
- We will end the school day at the normal dismissal time (our school day is not extended by two hours).
- For our bus riders, due to cold conditions, students are encouraged to remain indoors or in a car until their bus arrives at the designated stop (which will be approximately two hours later than the regular bus stop time). Please refer to the My Ride K-12 bus app for specific bus route arrival times.
- For our families needing the “Before School Program” (BSP), our elementary and MSGA BSP will open at 8:30 a.m.
- All after-school activities will proceed as scheduled.
Thanks for your continued patience and grace – we are hopeful this approach gives our students the opportunity to safely return to some sense of normalcy.
