Seamless Summer Option: MCS's Free Summer Meal Program Starts May 27

Seamless Summer Option: MCS's Free Summer Meal Program Starts May 27

MARIETTA, Ga. – Free summer meals are coming back for children across the community, as Marietta City Schools launches its Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program for 2026.

From May 27 through July 31, nutritious meals will be available at no cost to all children 18 and under, as well as adults 21 and under with a state-defined mental or physical disability. Meals will be served at 30 locations across Cobb County. No registration, income, or residency requirements are needed.

"Summer should be a time of joy and growth, not a time of worry about where the next meal is coming from," MCS School Nutrition Director Cindy Culver said. "The Seamless Summer Option ensures that our community's children continue to receive the nutritious meals they need to thrive, even when school is out."

More than 1 in 5 children in some areas face food insecurity, and many rely on school meals for consistent nutrition throughout the year. The SSO program bridges that gap over the summer months, helping children stay healthy and active until classes resume in the fall.

MCS invites all families with children aged 18 and under to participate in this program to meet their nutritional needs throughout the summer. Please click here for a complete list of meal pick-up locations, dates, and times.
