Dear MCS Families,
Marietta City Schools is holding school-specific Virtual Town Hall meetings in preparation for the reopening of schools (both in-person and virtually) on August 4, 2020. During these meetings, the principal of each school and Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera will respond to questions and suggestions (submitted in advance) from our MCS families. We recommend that you attend the Virtual Town Hall for the school(s) that your student(s) will attend for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year rather than the one they attended last year.
Virtual Learning Registration Form Deadline:
As you will see on the schedule, some of the elementary school meetings occur after the July 8 deadline for K-8 Virtual Learning Registration. While we encourage you to complete the Virtual Learning Registration Form if you have made a decision for your student, we recognize that many families are still considering the options and that the information provided during the Virtual Town Hall may affect their decision for Fall Semester 2020. The July 8 deadline is intended to assist in our preparation for the reopening of schools, but we will be understanding of a family’s need to change their decision, particularly for those families whose Town Halls occur after the deadline.
To submit a question or suggestion, please use this form. Please note that all questions and suggestions will be reviewed prior to the Virtual Town Hall. The submission form for each Town Hall will be closed 3 hours prior to the meeting’s start time. Similar questions/suggestions will be grouped or reflected as one to prevent duplication or redundancy of answers. We will make every reasonable effort to address the submitted questions/suggestions/topics during the one-hour Virtual Town Hall. However, if your question is not answered to your satisfaction, we welcome you to contact us by email at email@example.com.
We will present our Virtual Town Hall meetings through Zoom; please note that each meeting is limited to 500 participants. Although we are unable to livestream the Virtual Town Hall meetings, each meeting will be recorded in entirety and available on our website within two hours of the meeting’s completion. For those of you who intend to join through Zoom – please be aware that we are not in control nor responsible for any technical glitches or connection difficulties due to Internet speed, stability of connection, or Zoom functionality. If you are disconnected and not able to rejoin the meeting, we apologize but are unable to override the Zoom system. Please be assured that you will not miss any information by viewing a recording of the meeting rather than watching it in real-time.
