• Burruss Blast!

    Good afternoon, Burruss families!

It has been a wonderful summer preparing for the upcoming school year and reflecting on the previous year, which was my first year as a principal. I am so thankful to lead this amazing school! We really are a special place.

Attached is my Welcome Back letter for the 2019-2020 school year. It is full of important information, so please save it for future reference! Also attached is a welcome letter from our new PTA board and the suggested supply list for each grade level for this school year. If you pre-ordered the supply boxes through PTA in late spring/early summer, they will be available for pickup during Sneak-a-Peek, which is July 31 from 8:30-10:30am. Class rosters will be posted that morning, and students and families will have an opportunity to see their classrooms and meet their teacher. Families will also have a chance to join PTA, purchase school spiritwear, set up accounts with the cafeteria, get transportation information, and much more! It's a great, busy morning full of positive energy.

We are working hard to be ready for your children to return! It's going to be a GREAT school year! Our community is stronger because you and your family are a part of it. Thank you for your support and for trusting us with your precious children each day!

Remember: The first day of school is August 1!

Please let me know how I can assist you!

    Kind regards,

    Dr. Jillian Johnson

We are enjoying a new dismissal process this year that is safer and more organized than ever before! If you have a dismissal change, please communicate that change with your child's teacher as well as with the front office staff. Teachers will not accept transportation changes during the school day. All midday changes must be made through the front office before 2:30pm.

If your child does not live within walking distance to the school, please plan to pick up your child in the carpool line. We do require you to show your child's QR code, which can be given by the front office and shown either on paper or on your cell phone. Our carpool line is very efficient and we finish the process by 3:25 on most days.

Transportation changes that ask for your child to be a walker toward Lee's Crossing or toward Kimberly Way may not be granted if you do not live in those communities. Student safety is our top priority.
