Students and Employee of the Month
Student of the Month - Zoë Williams
Marietta City Schools is proud to announce Zoë Williams, a sixth-grade student at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy (MSGA), as the March District Student of the Month. Zoë is a dedicated student and athlete at MSGA. As an Honor Roll student, Zoë is dedicated to her studies and motivates others around her to strive for success. Her teachers describe her as resilient and able to accomplish anything she wants.
Zoë plays basketball for the sixth-grade girls’ basketball team and was team captain and MVP this year. She led the team to their first Cobb County Junior Basketball Conference championship win this year. When she isn’t studying or playing basketball, Zoë enjoys serving her community. This year, she held a back-to-school drive with her brother and his business to provide resources for students in her community.
We congratulate Zoë on being the March District Student of the Month.
Employee of the Month - Teresa Winters
Marietta City Schools is proud to announce Teresa Williams, an ELA teacher at Marietta Sixth Grade Academy (MSGA), as the March District Employee of the Month. Teresa is a high-performing teacher who always puts her students first. She constantly gathers feedback from colleagues to serve her students better. As an ELA teacher, Teresa works with students who may be reading below grade level, and because of her help, these students have seen consistent growth in their MAP Reading scores and better performance in the MSGA Reading Challenge.
Teresa is also passionate about creating engaging content for students. She collaborated with the fine arts department and other teachers to create a Black History Month program this year. The program featured student performances, a step team, and even a song by Teresa.
We congratulate Teresa on being the March District Employee of the Month.
