March Student of the Month

Student of the Month Kate Corr is a fifth grade student at West Side Elementary who has been on the all “A” honor roll since kindergarten. Kate is also in advanced math and is a MILE student. She has taken and passed 72 Accelerated Reader (AR) tests – earning over 476 AR points, the highest AR points at West Side Elementary. Kate is an active member of the Reading Bowl team and helped West Side place 3rd in the District Reading Bowl. Additionally Kate won the West Side Spelling Bee and placed 2nd in District Spelling Bee.

Kate enjoys performing, she was selected to be in Honors Chorus and is a cast member of the school’s Drama Club participating in this year’s production of “My Son Pinocchio, Jr.”

She is also very busy with before and after school activities including being an active member in her church where she attends Awakening classes (girls’ bible study) once a month. Kate plays tennis, soccer and the piano.

Kate works well with others and is actively involved in school activities. Her peers see her as a leader, consistently turning in exemplarily work and is one who can always be counted on; thus making her a model student.
