Aaron and Tracey Marino Opportunity Endowment Fund

Marietta City Schools would like to thank Aaron and Tracey Marino for donating $20,000 to establish the Aaron and Tracey Marino Opportunity Endowment Fund at the Marietta Schools Foundation. This fund will help to provide financial resources to students in need of financial help to ensure they are coming to school healthy and ready to learn. It also serves the district in its steadfast commitment to helping all students and their well-being.

The Home Depot Partnership

Since March, Marietta City Schools and the Home Depot’s Rental Operations Facility division, based in Marietta, have had a partnership that works to provide the district with various service projects. The partnership started with Home Depot’s commitment to providing one service project a month for our district as a part of their Spring into Service Project. With the partnership, they provide the equipment and staff to complete the projects. Their first project helped Marietta High School work on a new observatory for students. During this project, students had the opportunity to also meet with leaders at the facility and spend time learning from them.

The second project that the Rental Operations Facility completed within the district was assisting two MCS transportation employees with a yard makeover and a home appliance upgrade. Patty and John Rocco have been bus drivers for over a combined 30 years, and this past year, their yard was left destroyed after a contractor left in the middle of the job. With the help of The Home Depot Foundation, the Rental Operations Facility completely re-made their yard and provided the Roccos with new home appliances.
