More than 100 eighth-grade students at Marietta Middle School surprised Charles Edwards, a WWII veteran and Marietta High School alumnus, with a post-Veterans Day visit to his home. Students carried American flags, homemade posters, and balloons from the Middle School campus as they walked to Mr. Edwards' nearby home. As a thank you for his service, students presented him with a gift and letter of gratitude on behalf of the Marietta Class of 2027. Mr. Edwards also received a signed football to commemorate his time as the Marietta High School quarterback in 1942.
