The inaugural “Master Class,” focused on car care, took place after school on Wednesday, March 8. Jim Ellis Automotive Group, our community partner, supported the project by providing their mechanics to serve as class teachers. Students learned how to change a tire and check oil levels. Jim Ellis also discussed potential job opportunities.
The next Master Class will take students to the kitchen where they’ll learn cooking skills and try out some basic recipes.
The Marietta Student Life Center utilizes a “Whole Child Model School” framework to offer student integrated supports, family and community engagement, and expanded learning opportunities, all through a collaborative leadership model. Other ways the Student Life Center supports students include the Pantry and Swap-It Closet, mentoring, and tutoring.
