“Community Conversations” town hall to highlight College Advising

MARIETTA, GA – Marietta City Schools (MCS) continues the “Community Conversations” town hall series on Monday, March 27, from 12:30-1 p.m., with an overview of the College Advising program offered at Marietta High School (MHS).

The “Community Conversations” series provides an opportunity for Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera and other leaders in the school system to talk through major projects and initiatives. Families can ask questions and dialogue about topics that impact their students.

This month, Dr. Rivera and Milly Gorman, MHS college advisor, will discuss opportunities for students offered through the College Advising program. MHS's two dedicated college advisors help students identify and apply to colleges and universities that best fit their academic goals and personal interests.

The town hall will also cover practical next steps for families, including how to sign up for college representative visits, request transcripts and letters of recommendation for college applications, and set up one-on-one family or student meetings with a college advisor.

This “Community Conversations” event will be virtual to make it convenient for people to join wherever they are. The virtual town hall will also be recorded so people who can’t make it can still access this valuable information.
