Marietta Schools Foundation establishes “Live Like Liv Scholarship”

MARIETTA, GA – The Marietta Schools Foundation has announced the “Live Like Liv Scholarship” fund in honor of Marietta High School (MHS) Junior Liv Teverino.

Teverino was killed in a car accident on Monday, September 18, 2023. Her legacy at MHS is one of excellence, leadership, and compassion.

"Liv embodied the spirit of Marietta High in every way,” said MHS Principal Marvin Crumbs, “Her dedication, passion, and kindness were evident in every endeavor she undertook. She will always be remembered as a beacon of hope and inspiration for our students."

Not only was she an exemplary student in the International Baccalaureate Programme, but she also showcased her athletic prowess as a key member of the MHS state champion cross country team. Beyond the school's boundaries, Teverino's leadership qualities were recognized, earning her a place in this year's Cobb Youth Leadership cohort.

"Liv was a true leader and role model within our community,” said Marietta City Schools Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera, reflecting on her legacy, “She made a profound impression on everyone she met – her peers and teachers, and anyone fortunate enough to know her."

Contributions to the scholarship fund can be made online here. Checks should be addressed to "The Marietta Schools Foundation" with “Liv Teverino” in the memo field and can be mailed to 144 Polk Street NW, Marietta, GA 30064.

With this scholarship, the Marietta Schools Foundation strives to ensure that her legacy continues to inspire future Marietta High School graduates.
