"Community Conversations" town hall series to highlight MCS Athletics

Marietta City Schools (MCS) continues our "Community Conversations" town hall series, focusing on our athletic programs. 

Superintendent Dr. Grant Rivera, MCS Athletics Director Craig McKinney, and Middle School Athletics Director Josh Hawk will lead these informative sessions. They will provide insights into how MCS supports and nurtures student-athletes across all school levels and introduce new initiatives aimed at enhancing our athletic offerings, including the "Blue Devil App." The virtual event will provide an opportunity for parents, students, and the community to learn about our athletic programs and ask questions.

“Athletics play a crucial role in the holistic development of our students,” said Superintendent Rivera. “These town halls are great opportunities to showcase how we're expanding and enriching our athletic programs to ensure every student has the chance to participate and excel."

The series will include three separate sessions, each tailored to different levels of our school community:


For rising Marietta Sixth Grade Academy Families:
Date and Time: Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 7:30-8:00 p.m.
Focus: Discussion on athletic opportunities for our youngest student-athletes and introduction of MSGA’s first girls' and boys' soccer teams.

For rising and current Marietta Middle School Families:
Date and Time: Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 8:30-9:00 p.m.
Focus: Overview of athletic programs and initiatives at the middle school level.

For rising and current Marietta High School Families:
Date and Time: Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 7:30-8:00 p.m.
Focus: Discussion on the extensive athletic opportunities available for high school students.
