MCS to Select New K-5 Reading Program

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As part of Marietta City Schools’ ongoing commitment to providing the best possible education for our students, we are excited to announce the upcoming adoption of a K-5 reading program for our district to complement our focus and commitment to structured literacy. We value your input and involvement in this process, which is why we are inviting you to participate in reviewing and providing feedback on the available curriculum materials.

After the posting of a Request for Proposal (RFP), district stakeholders reviewed and scored products submitted and narrowed the selection to two vendors. They have provided products for our consideration, and we believe that involving our community in the selection process will help us make an informed decision. We cordially invite you to join us at the Marietta City Schools Central Office, located at 250 Howard St, on Tuesday, February 27th from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m., where you will have the opportunity to examine the curriculum materials firsthand.

During this time, you may review the materials provided by each vendor and provide feedback to the selection committee. We encourage you to take this opportunity to thoroughly explore the content, format, and instructional approaches of each program. Your insights and observations are invaluable to us as we strive to select the most effective reading program for our elementary school students.

We understand that your time is precious, and we sincerely appreciate your willingness to participate in this important process. By working together, we can ensure that our students have access to high-quality reading instruction to support their academic growth and success.

If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Jennifer Hernandez at Thank you for your continued support and partnership in education.
