MCS Celebrates Athletic Achievements at Spring Football Game

Marietta High School celebrated its athletes' achievements during the Varsity Football Spring Game at Northcutt Stadium on Thursday, May 16. The Marietta City School district earned six championship titles in soccer, cross country, track and field, and esports during the 2023 – 2024 school year.

Marietta Middle School's eighth-grade boys soccer team and Coach Sam Deitrich won the league championship with an undefeated season, finishing 14-0.

The MHS girls cross country team won the GHSA State Championship for the fourth year in a row, with standout performances from Maddie Jones, Mary Nesmith, Nora Hart, Bella Russell, Gabbie Comsudes, and Brooklyn McVicker. Nesmith triumphed again in the 1600 and 3200-meter Runs and anchored the winning 4x800-meter relay team. The Girls 4x800 Relay team, which also included Brooklyn McVicker, Nora Hart, and Maddie Jones, claimed the state title for the second year in a row.

Representing MHS track and field, Will Frederick was named the 2024 pole vault state champion, and Jorden Reddick won the 110 high hurdle state championship. 

J'Kelyn Carroll secured his second Georgia High School Association Esports Madden State Championship and will attend Sienna Heights University for collegiate esports in the fall.
