Carrie Woityra, MCS Counselor of The Year

The Cobb School Counselor Association held their annual Cobb County Schools and Marietta City Schools Professional Recognition Day, Friday, May 3 at the Piedmont Church in Marietta.

School counselors from throughout Marietta and Cobb were nominated for counselor of the year and celebrated for their dedication to children and families in both districts.

We are proud to announce that Carrie Woityra from Sawyer Road Elementary has been selected as the 2019 Marietta City Elementary Counselor of the Year, and Andrea Francis, from Marietta Middle School has been selected as the 2019 Marietta City Secondary Counselor of the Year.

They were selected as Marietta Counselors of the Year because of their school counseling innovations, effective school counseling programs, leadership and advocacy skills, and contributions to student achievements.

Carrie and Andrea have served a combined 45 years as counselors and 48 years in public education. We are proud and grateful to all of our counselors for the incredible work they do with our students each and every day.
