Hickory Hills Earns Third Grade Reading Community Award

BOE Hickory Hills Award Group Shot

Hickory Hills Elementary Media Specialist Amy Baringer is known for going above and beyond for her students and her community, so it comes as no surprise that her efforts, along with the support of our partners at Communities in Schools, earned Hickory Hills Elementary a Third Grade Reading Community Grant for $10,000. This award is made possible by the generous support of the United Way of Greater Atlanta and will fund the Dragon FIRE (Families Igniting Reading Excitement) project. The project seeks to increase school readiness and reduce summer learning loss.
