Students and Staff at Sawyer Road Elementary participated in the #MakeRoomForLegumes campaign. We where part of the GA Organics Campaign for October's Farm-to-School Month.  Master Gardener Volunteer, Michelle Gambon, Food Corp, Sponsor teachers and MCS Nutrition inspired our students and taught them about the easy-to-grow legumes. Our students also taste-tested a legume salad and created legume mosaics. 

We are proud to share in the excitement of being a Grand Prize Winner! Congrats to Community Sprouts and farm to school volunteer extraordinaire Michelle Gambon on being our grand prize winner! Throughout October, Marietta City Schools students created colorful mosaics, started new school gardens, learned new culinary skills, and showcased their knowledge in school festivals. Over 1400 students participated in legume taste tests or legume themed activities! Keep up the great work and we look forward to following your farm to school activities all year long!
